Daniel Anzola is a medical professional with over 14 years of experience in evidence synthesis, healthcare research, project management, and knowledge translation. Before joining Stratenym, he led multiple evidence synthesis projects for clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, where his strategic oversight of project scope, timelines, and budgets consistently achieved top satisfaction ratings and strong client relationships. He earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in his native Colombia, and honed his expertise in systematic reviews while working with the Cochrane Collaboration in Spain.
Daniel is an expert in methodologies underlying evidence-based research, and has extensive experience performing systematic reviews and meta-analyses to support evidence-based recommendations and regulatory submissions. He has worked with numerous institutions, including the Colombian National Cancer Institute, the Ibero-American Cochrane Centre, Georgian College, Athabasca University, DeafBlind Ontario Services, the Royal Victoria Hospital, and the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. He has published his research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at international conferences. Daniel is also a passionate educator and scientific communicator, having taught statistics and project management to post-graduate students at Georgian College.
Daniel is based in Barrie, Ontario. In his downtime, he enjoys playing video games and chess, and enthusiastically debating the undeniable superiority of The Empire Strikes Back over every other film in the Star Wars franchise.
